Compassion: A dominant theme

On this Easter Sunday, I have decided to show a little respect for a tradition that is not my own. So in saying that, Happy Easter. Yeshua ben Yosef or Jesus as he is most widely known was ultimately and fundamentally a revolutionary in every sense of the word. Most people think of the word revolutionary and they instantly picture the likes of Fidel Castro, Mutulu Shakur, George Jackson, Che Guevarra, Afeni Shakur, or Huey P. Newton. All of whom are indeed revolutionary in their own right. However, the word has become overworked in some circles, and in a larger sense... I feel as though we should understand motivations to understand actions. In doing such, and to avoid rambling, I will dive straight into my point... Compassion. Compassion is and should be the central theme to any revolution, and any revolutionary. Compassion for and to the human experience, be it physical, spiritual, social and political conditions. There is no greater love, than the love you can exhibit to make someone else outside of yourself's condition better. Changing someones station through a selfless act of compassion and comfort is revolutionary. So in closing... I dare you to do it. Be a human. Comfort someone. Be compassionate. It's what revolutionaries do... Happy Easter.
